Set up an agent
Open a workspace in the dashboard, choose Create project, and give the project a name. Its Blueprint opens next.
Start with a support desk
Section titled “Start with a support desk”Choose Use this template under Start with a support desk. Fill in Business name and What this desk covers. Review the hours, handover rules, restricted topics and opening message, then choose Create agent.
Use a handover promise your team can keep. The template starts as a draft. Add your documentation before asking it to answer questions about your business.
Choose Start from a blank agent to write your own setup instead.
Identity and instructions
Section titled “Identity and instructions”Open Agent Identity. Write a short Description, then add System Instructions. Say what the agent helps with, what information it can use, and when it needs a person.
Give it concrete rules. For a tea shop, that could be:
Help customers choose tea from our catalog.Ask whether they want caffeine before suggesting a tea.Use our written shipping policy for delivery questions.Pass refund requests to a person. The editor checks Blueprint variable references as you type. For example, the support desk instructions refer to the business name entered during setup.
Greeting
Section titled “Greeting”Open Greeting and write the Welcome Message. It appears when a new chat opens.
Choose Generate to draft a greeting from this agent’s instructions. Read and edit the result before using it. Generating a greeting doesn’t publish it.
Choices adds buttons below the welcome message. Suggestions adds conversation starters. The support desk template includes suggestions you can remove or replace.
The greeting has a Manage translations button for adding other languages.
Save and publish
Section titled “Save and publish”Changes save to the Blueprint draft as you edit. Wait for Saved before leaving. Reload the page to check that your settings are still there.
Choose Publish when the draft is ready. A successful publish shows its version number. A missing or blank greeting blocks publishing and points back to Greeting. Write one or choose Generate before publishing again.
Publication applies the whole Blueprint, including its workflows.
Check your draft
Section titled “Check your draft”The Test Console opens beside the editor. Its greeting previews the saved draft. Use Reset conversation to start a new test after changing the setup.
Send a message from the Messenger’s composer inside the Test Console to exercise the agent. It uses the Blueprint’s configured model. Saving and testing are separate actions.
Next, choose a model and choose tools.
